Who doesn't love a flavorful, beefy hamburger? The mustard sauce totally takes the show in this recipe and you won't miss the bun. Grass-fed and pasture-raised beef are healthier options than conventional beef. Both have about the same amount of protein, but bison has more iron.
In a large bowl add the ground beef and the seasonings. With your hands, mix throughly and form into four patties. Set aside.
Prep the extras on a large plate. Set aside.
In a small bowl, mix all the ingredients of the maple mustard sauce and set aside.
Saute the mushrooms with ghee or butter on medium heat. Add salt and pepper to taste and continue to cook for about 3 to 4 minutes, or until they are soft. Set aside in a separate dish to cool.
In the same pan, cook the patties on medium heat for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side until it is done to your liking. You can grill these if you prefer.
Next, load your plates with greens on the bottom, patties and the extras. Drizzle the maple mustard sauce on top.

½ cup of button mushrooms
2 slices of a red onion
1 avocado
½ cup of dark greens
½ to 1 tbsp ghee or butter

¼ cup Dijon mustard
2 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp avocado oil
