Description

Smell the wonderful aroma and taste the savory, beefy goodness of this creamy dish. Mushrooms and onions have the sulfur your body craves. Feel free to serve this with cauliflower rice or white rice. It makes wonderful leftovers too!

Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef (from pasture-raised cows)
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 8 oz white mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ghee or butter
  • 1 tbsp arrowroot or tapioca flour
  • 1 can (about 14 oz) full fat coconut mild
  • 1/8 tsp allspice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • optional: dollop sour cream or unsweetened plain yogurt
  • optional: 1 tsp chopped parsley
Instructions
  1. In a large cast iron skillet on medium heat, add the ghee and then the ground beef. Sauté while stirring and breaking up the beef.

  2. When almost completely browned, add the onion, mushrooms and garlic on medium-low heat. Cook for about 5 minutes until the onions are soft.

  3. Add the allspice with salt and pepper to your liking an stir.

    Sprinkle in the arrowroot and add the coconut milk. Stir to combine.

  4. Bring to a light boil and then reduce and simmer for about 3 minutes.
