Warm & Spicy Chia Tea

Description

Full of warmth and flavor. These spices have antioxidant properties and help with digestion.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup full fat coconut milk
  • 2 black tea bags
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anise, whole
  • 4 cardamom pods, crushed (or 2 tsp ground cardamom)
  • 1 tsp ginger, ground
  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
Instructions
  1. Add water, milk, spices, and the tea bags to a saucepan and bring to a gentle boil. Stir to blend the spices and reduce the heat to just under a simmer.

     

  2. Let steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Shut off the burner, let it sit for a minute or two and stir again. 

  3. Strain the tea concentrate with a fine, mesh strainer to separate spices from the liquid. Pour into your favorite mug and add a dash of nutmeg on top!
