Exercise Should Be Fun!

Move your body and get outside!

Move your body and relieve stress!

Due to emotional, physiological and endocrine responses in the body, stress can have negative effects on your health both mental and physical.

Ideas to manage your stress:

  • Vacations, big or small
  • Getting regular physical activity
  • Practicing relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing, meditation, yoga, tai chi, or massage
  • Keeping a sense of humor
  • Setting aside time for hobbies like reading, gardening, or listening to music
Let’s focus on physical activity and getting away! These are both so important!

Just recently, my husband and I were able to get in a mini getaway in Silverthorne, CO for three nights and we were able to use our friend’s ebikes! If you have never been on an ebike, also known as an electric powered bike, I highly recommend it. I love them because you really can go great distances without getting wiped out. It also doesn’t matter if you’re a person who’s an exercise freak or not, because these bikes cater to all types. And, you really can get in a good workout. You can set these bikes to the level you’re comfortable with and set the amount of exercise that is right for you. My husband can set his bike at the gears he wants for his own work out while I can set it to give me a get-up-and-go so I can keep up with him. About fifty percent of the bikes we passed up here, on the friendly paved trails, were ebikes.

What’s so fun about them is the fact that you can set the gears at what works well for you. This way, anyone can keep up with a workout guru. For example, my husband had set the bike on “economy” (a harder setting) so that he can work harder on those hills while I can keep up with him! We had fun working out together. It thought that it was so interesting that about 50% of the bikes we passed were ebikes. Knowing what hills are involved up here in the mountains, it’s so nice that you have a little extra help going up hill!  I’ve never had so much fun going at a pretty steep incline without having to get off my bike and walk it up hill—Embarrassing and not very fun!

They really are not expensive up here in high-end Breckenridge, CO area. I’ve seen anywhere from $40 for two hours to $88 for 8 hours. Some shops will allow you to keep the bikes in your possession for 24 hours at a rate of about $120.

If the celebs can ride ebikes so can we!

The point is . . . get-a-way, move, have fun, and get vitamin D!  It’s all so good for you!
