Caught a Bug?
Do you ever wonder why some people get sick often and others do not? It comes down to one answer. Are you living a healthy lifestyle?
There are many nitty-gritty reasons why someone may get sick.
- Not eating a healthy diet
- Dehydration
- Not getting enough vitamins/minerals in diet
- Not exercising enough
- Hand hygiene
- Picking up bacteria or a virus from someone else—Parents of children are notorious for this
- Constant negative emotions (ex: depression, anger, worrying)
- Sleep deprivation
- Too much stress
I also want to stress that if you’re living almost a perfect (because no one is perfect) lifestyle, you can still get sick, however, there are certain people who rarely get sick and think of the list above—they take action on the opposite. These people live a healthy lifestyle and are positive, happy, and practice self-care often.
Let’s go over how to get well as quickly as possible!
I like the quote to the right. Much of this is true, but let’s break down how to manage your symptoms and feel better fast!
Rest: You’re body may be telling you to slow down
Drink fluids: Drink plenty of filtered water. Herbal teas, bone broth, warm healthy liquids can loosen congestion
Soothe a sore throat: Drink warm liquids with honey like tea
Eat super foods: Foods like colorful fruits and veggies to strengthen your immune system
Consume plenty of good protein
Let thy food be medicine and medicine be thy food. —Hippocrates

- Broth-based soupsSoups can help with congestion, inflammation, and mucus. They can also provide fluids, electrolytes, calories, vitamins, and protein.
- Hot teaTea can help with congestion, sore throats, and hydration. You can add honey and lemon to soothe a sore throat.
