Listen to Your Intuition

When you love your work, you love more than your paycheck. Loving your work goes beyond the normal boss mindset or the free snacks in the break room.

 

Loving your work means there is at least one part of the job you do—you know, the actual work part—that makes you happy.

For some, it’s a momentary thrill that motivates you to keep going, to wake up in the morning and get your butt in gear.

 

For others, it’s a soul connection that feeds you on a deeper level.

Both—and every experience in between—are valid and great and perfectly in line with what I mean when I talk about loving your work or being happy at your job.

 

For me, I just had a major life-reset.  Meaning I just left my safe, income-producing real estate career and I’m feeling a flood of emotions.  It’s terrifying, thrilling, and satisfying all at the same time.

How can leaving a job bring up such a range of emotions? Well, especially when it’s all you’ve known for almost 25 years you question yourself.  Am I doing the right thing? I’m I crazy for leaving such a great job and a bunch of great friends?  I must be nuts after walking away from a career I’ve built since 1999 with a cushy income.

 

Well, when you have sleepless nights about how you can build a different career helping people heal from diseases, it puts you into a whirlwind. Sometimes the soul inside you won’t let you rest until you make a shift and DECIDE to make the change. 

 

Well, I did it. The transition isn’t easy for sure.  I’ve got to learn new systems, programs, and market myself in a new way. However, I’m up for the challenge since my heart has been pulling me over for the last few years.  I decided I just couldn’t ignore it anymore. So here I am.

People have asked me, what are you going to do exactly?  Well, helping people heal from disease can lead to a lot of roles.  I know I am going to keep writing books.  This is something I enjoy and I know I can get info out to the masses.  I’ve thrown around the idea of setting up wellness or healing courses with health coaching to help others—I’m still digging into this. This can certainly help a lot of people. 

 

Since I’ve been down this road I can relate to so many people and what they are going through. It can make all the difference in the world when you’ve been through something like being diagnosed with a serious disease and healing from it with flying colors. Now, I can teach others to do the same thing—it’s not rocket science.  They are simple principles that I applied which got my mind and body back on track. Learning abut this power I had was truly incredible to me. In fact, I now feel BETTER and HEALTHIER than I did before.  On most days, I feel like a teenager again!

I learned our bodies are incredible healing machines when given the right protocols.  The problem was, back in 2015 when I was diagnosed with MS, no one reached out to me to say, “Hey, you can heal this yourself you know.” I had no one to turn to, just my family who thought as I did—contemplating how long it would be before I needed a wheelchair.  If I would have had someone who knew this truth, it would have saved me so much time and  heartache!  In essence, I want to help folks get out of this scary and troublesome scenario—It’s a terrible place to be!

So, listen to your intuition. If the message doesn’t go away, you know you have to make changes and do what your heart is pushing you to do. If not, you may be miserable where you are until you listen finally. No, I wasn’t miserable at my place of work but this voice was getting louder and louder and I couldn’t ignore it anymore.

I can feel exciting things coming my way—it’s just a matter of time when I move in closer to my passion. I’m writing this to help others think about where they are in life. Do you LOVE your current job? If it doesn’t have the same passion as it once did, listen to your gut. 

Loving what you do also has positive affects on your health.

Why loving your job is important:

  • Better quality of work
  • Increased productivity
  • Better mental health
  • Better overall health and wellbeing
  • Better job retention
  • Happier everyday life
  • Increased motivation in all activities
  • Stronger engagement on tasks
  • Fewer mistakes within work
  • More confidence

In conclusion, do what your heart is tugging you to do. You’ve got this one life. Is your heart happy with what you’re doing everyday?
